The events of Splatoon unfold on picturesque islands inhabited by Inklings. They are a rather technologically advanced race who have come up with all sorts of gadgets to make their life comfortable and prosperous, as well as weapons to fight with their long-term enemies, Octolings. At the start, you will find yourself on some kind of a main square in the capital of Inklings. That’s where you can equip and upgrade your character (an Inkling who is yet inexperienced and thus hardly capable of putting up a good fight, but it’s only a question of time) and choose a mode you would like to play in.

There are several modes available, among them PvP and team vs team battles, as well as campaign that will put you up against the evil Octolings and set you off on a series of missions you have to complete passing vibrant levels and fighting powerful bosses. Any of these modes allows you to evolve your character in a number of ways, and you can always take a break from passing the campaign and participate in a few team fights instead.

Upgrade your hero and equip them with the best weapons!

So how do the fights run and what does your hero need to succeed in them? Since the characters of Splatoon are squids, they use ink as their main weapon. To shoot it at your enemies, you need some kind of a gun (although sometimes you can see Inklings with buckets from which they simply slash ink of their color). There are all sorts of those guns, and you can equip any of them as long as it becomes available to you. Besides, you will have some kind of an additional weapon and a special ability (like calling forth an ink rain, for example).

Aside from it, your Inkling needs a good set of clothes. The main thing to put on is the bodywear. Then comes a pair of shoes with some cool bonuses and also an accessory that will also come in handy to increase your parameters. These items have slots that can be used to enhance them with perks, and the rarity of the stuff you wear increases the number of slots in them.
